Kevin Rose was born in February 21 of 1977.

Bio:

Kevin Rose was born in Redding California and lived in Oregon for a short period of time till his family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. He decides to pursue a world of BBS¹ in the late 1960. Later on he goes to Vo-tech school in Las Vegas where he studies computers and animation. He then transfers to Univ. of Nevada, Las Vegas, but soon drops out to pursue 1990 boom.

An explanation of his/her contribution to the internet or web:

One day while having lunch with cofounder of Apple, Kevin discussed how he wanted to “do something” and came up with an idea of creating Digg. Kevin Rose started his career by taking out 6000$ from his account, which were saved up for the house, and investing money into Digg. After that the relationship between his girlfriend and him broke down. He hired freelance web developer and paid him 12 dollars an hour to manage a webpage purchased from server.

The website was officially launched to the public on December 5, 2004

How did/does this contribution or event effect where the web/internet is today? In others, why was it such a milestone to moving the web forward?

Digg is website that delivers social news. Few of the thing one can do are: create personal preference link for the news relative to any topic of one interest, brose dig anywhere on the go, helps users to engage more people to their website trough Digg, and many more.

An interesting fact about this person that I would find surprising:

• Withdrew 6000$ dollars that he saved for the house
• Had lunch with founder of Apple®
